Project Overview

Multi-discipline 3D layout modeling and fluid flow analysis for an industrial Bitumen Plant in the UAE.

The Challenge

Bitumen processing requires managing high-viscosity fluids under strict temperature windows. Any system bottleneck, incorrect line sizing, or poorly coordinated piping route risks fluid cooling, causing massive blockages and pressure spikes across the plant network.

Our Technical Execution

We deployed AFT Fathom to run advanced hydraulic fluid simulations, determining the optimal pipe diameters, pump heads, and pressure drop gradients for the highly viscous fluid. Concurrently, the piping network was modelled in 3D using CADWorx to ensure optimal spatial routing, valve access, and safe maintenance clearance.

The Outcome

Provided a mathematically verified, fully coordinated plant design. The integrated fluid dynamic simulation completely eliminated thermal drop risks and layout interferences prior to installation.
